Request Mykel for your organ needs today!
Welcome! I'm Mykel Luxon, a young organist based in the Kenosha, WI area. A University of Wisconsin-Parkside sophomore, I've had years of experience as a performing organist under professors Christopher Berry and Dr. Brian Schoettler and pianist under Lynn Orlando and Fumi Nakayama. I've learned a broad range of styles, from the Baroque days of Buxtehude to contemporary styles like that of Florence Price, and performed for figures from the Episcopal Bishop of Wisconsin to the Chancellor of UW-Parkside. I enjoy performing for everyone who has interest in the still very relevant and amazingly diverse world of the organ, rightfully titled the "King of Instruments" by some.
As Parish Musician of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Caledonia, WI; I have a deep comprehension of hymn style and many of the classic wedding tunes, outside of the more technical pieces I learn. I have experience in the accompaniment of both human voices and string/brass instruments over the years. Overall, I'm a very flexible performer with broad performance experience, always interested in seeking more opportunities to broaden my experience. Thank you for visiting!
